small blobs.

here are some small 'blobs' of life going on lately.

* tonight shaun and i are going on a date to the third day, toby mac, and michael w. smith concert, part of the 'make a difference tour' i'm super excited!!

* there was a mouse in my house yesterday. blech. i pray he's gone. or that he finds one of the numerous traps we have set for him...and all his friends...if he has any.

* i've finally conquered my mountain of laundry. it was a huge success. :)

* it's freezing and windy in wisconsin. i can't wait til spring.

* dustin has his birthday party this weekend. and i'm excited for that.

* we're giving shaun his christmas/birthday present this weekend at dustin's birthday party. i am STOKED. and glad i don't have to keep it a secret much longer. i can not wait to see his reaction and pray he sees it as the blessing i'm hoping it will be. ((i haven't shared it on here either! but i will soon. ;) ))

* we do have it figured out. ((my kids)) and we like it. i had someone ask me at the mall last week if we figured it out yet. i said what? and he asked again and then pointed at my kids. so i said, yes, and we like it very much. thanks. and turned away. it was the first time i've been asked that! insane. i don't know what people think when they ask that. the guy and  his wife thought they were pretty funny. until i answered so nonchalantly. they sort of looked at me goofy and walked away. :) i still don't see the humor. but oh well.

* i learned at church the other week i don't have to have it all together. as long as i have Jesus. *whew* now only if i can REMEMBER that.

* i also was reminded that we will be not liked by people in the 'world' for our beliefs. and that it's okay. now to not care about what the 'world' thinks of me.

* we don't 'do' halloween. so it's interesting when the people at mcd's ask me a few times if i'm sure i don't want the trick or treat pail. after i say i do NOT want the pail. i think they're just making sure i know that the pail is the toy. and we won't get a toy. ((and i'm quite fine with that, because generally the toys get lost, forgotten or given to goodwill anyways))

* i'm going to california in january!! and am super excited. i'm going with another blogging friend. to meet another blogging friend. bring on the palm trees and beach. :)

* it's sort of fun doing random 'blob' posts.

* i got my haircut last week. i LOVE it. it's the first time in a long time i've loved my hair. i got it colored too. which was looooooooooooong overdue! this is a picture of it...right after i left the salon. so i can't quite style it the same...but i still love it!

* i hope you have a great weekend.

* i'm done now. because if you know me any bit at all, i must make myself stop before i go on forever. :)

14 loving words from you.:

Love the haircut!! Have fun at the concert. Lucky duck. ;) Do we ever really have "it" all figured out? I don't think so. As for the surprise....my mind is racing all over. I can't wait to hear what it is!!

I love your haircut! I'm very jealous of your California vacation, too...I've never been there & that sounds quite nice compared to our lovely weather lately. :)

First, LOVE the haircut! So cute!

Second, we had a mouse, too! Eek! Read our adventure here:
http://momforhim.blogspot.com/2010/10/adventure.html

Third, we got a new furnace today, and the guys found a family of dead mice in the intake pipe of the old one. BLECH!

Fourth, yeah, we've had people ask us if we've "figured out what causes that yet" (meaning several kids). Yeah. I don't get the humor, either. Yes we know! And we love it!!

Fifth, we don't do Halloween, either (haven't since I was 6 years old), and it is so refreshing to be finally meeting other people who don't! :-)

Sounds like a fun weekend ahead :) hope it's amazing!
i have been reading your blog for quite some time...and since evaleigh was born you've commented a few times about whether or not you know if "your done" having children. i can remeber you saying things along the lines of "evaleigh is a wonderful baby so we don't know if we are "done", etc. if people ask you about your family and/or if another child(ren) are in your thoughts or on the way, it may just be curiosity! :) i feel people are very nosy and like to feel they "know" what's going on in other peoples lives! also...when couples choose to only have one or two...it's amazing to see that others choose to have five, six, or nine children!
whatever your choices may be concerning children and your family, you and your husband's beliefs are the only opinons that should "matter" so to speak :)
it's wonderful family, big or small! when you have a blog about your life or people know you based on your activities, etc.....you automatically open them up to your lives....so therefor i think people automatically feel it gives them permission to "wonder"!
wow...i'm done "rambling" as you like to say!
best wishes on life and your family! it's all a blessing and beautiful thing!

We went to the concert last night too!! We brought Treyton and went with Tim's siblings (there were 12 of us there)!! How did you like it? We loved it. Treyton LOVES Toby Mac, he calls him "boom bop" after the song "Boomin' out the Stereo". Anyhow, it was a super late night for him which I didn't realize it was going to go until 11 :) so that's why we didn't make the play group this morning.
Love your hair!

your hair is super cute.

And you need a triple gold star for catching up on your laundry. Savor the moment!

It's been freezing and super windy in Minnesota -- up till Friday. Today it was gorgeous!

Have a great night.
