i don't claim to know it all. i don't claim to be perfect. i just claim to love jesus.

sharing the love

awhile ago i was blessed to win one of these::

a moby wrap. and i was really blessed to already have one in a solid color. so i decided it wouldn't hurt to ask if i could have on in a pattern. ((even though the giveaway was for a solid color)) the super nice lady at moby wrap said sure. i said great. i offered to pay the difference in price too. because i figured i was the 'selfish' one. ((but the people at moby were SO super generous and just GAVE me the patterned one!!)) so i went on a hunt and picked out the dotty pattern. it's so super cute!! because of being a little pregnant i left it in the bag. because i know i can never get it to look like this again:
so i took the pictures. and wanted to share the love of the moby with you. it truly is one of my favorite carriers. it looks a bit intimidating at first. but it's really just a long sheet of fabric and you wrap it around yourself to hold in baby...see::

dustin LOVED the moby as a baby. if he was crabby i wrapped the moby and put him in it and in mere minutes he was fast asleep. my dad called him spoiled. i call him loved. :0) and a tad bit 'spoiled' but spoiled is in the eyes of the beholder.

i have never been talented to try nursing wearing the moby, but i've heard about it being done. i may have to try that with this baby. but i have worn and walked for walks while carrying a baby. and it works great for that. i've gone shopping and wrapped up baby. and again perfectly. what i like about it, is that the baby can face inward or outward. so there are options. i have never done a back or hip carry but apparently those are done as well. i just need someone to show me those, and then i think i'd feel more comfortable with those holds. it also doesn't hurt your back. which is another must have feature for me. i've worn it literally for HOURS and have not had any increased back pain. ((i have back pain to begin with, so something that does NOT add to it..is super nice!))

i always tell my friends who are having babies how they NEED to have the moby wrap. it's so super nice. i love it. and i made sure to buy one for my sister when she was pregnant with aryssa. i truly think it's a newborn must have...

which is why...the dotty moby wrap up you saw up there...is getting shipped out today. WHAT!?! you won it. selfishly asked for a patterned moby. and you're shipping it out!? yep. that's what i said.

a few days ago on facebook. a super sweet friend was asking her 'baby wearing' friends what carriers they loved. of course, i said the moby!! (( i also mentioned a few other carriers, but since this is about the moby, we'll stick with that!)) a few others seconded and thirded my moby suggestion. and that was that. for a bit. because i thought right away, i could just send her one of mine. i have two. then i decided. no. i want both of them. i just won that one.

then the next day. it kept popping in my head. you could give her the moby. you could sell it to her. you SHOULD JUST GIVE HER THE MOBY. finally i said, OKAY GOD! i GET IT!! and sent an email later in the day letting her know that god truly led my selfish little heart to give her the moby i had won.

so i'm sending it out today. and sharing the moby love.

i'm not sharing this story to look for some sort of recognition or something. i don't need that. but a few weeks ago shaun and i were talking how cool it would be to have something 'big' to bless someone with. like a van. how cool would it be to have a van and just give it to someone you know who needs it? we just thought something like that would be so cool to do. of course we can't do anything huge like that at this point in our lives, but we can give away a moby. and that's what we're doing. so to me giving the moby is like blessing someone with a van. lol. maybe it's a weird comparission. but i totally can see it. :0)

and ps. if you didn't see the last post...the girls were great models the other day..and i encourage you to check out their cuteness. :0) but i'm of course very biased!

20 loving words from you.:

Amanda, you are such a sweetie! I think about doing stuff like that all the time...but I usually don't follow through with it! I did try the other day to do a few nice gestures for strangers and it felt nice to make other people happy for no reason:)

Oh I love this post! I think it’s amazing that you have the desire in your heart to bless someone else! My husband and I once decided to pay for a older ladies lunch when we were in California. The lady sat by herself and just looked so sweet. When I saw her I immediately had the conviction to do so. I can’t even begin to tell you how much it blessed us to see this lady’s eyes light up knowing that someone paid for her glass of milk and sandwich! May the Lord bless you as you desire to bless others! Have a great Tuesday!

it is amazing how God provides through the generosity of others. speaking of vans, we were given a suv last october from one of the elders at our church. we only had one vehicle at the time and it happened to be broken down. it is still broken (too expensive to fix at this point!) but we've had the other vehicle to drive. God truly provided. i know your friend is stoked to get a moby. i have been trying to decide on a wrap... i might just have to pull the trigger on the moby. i've heard too many great things about it!

i have that exact same moby , mine came from ebay cause it was WAY cheaper than at the moby.com store. and i LOVE LOVE LOVE iT.. it has been SO handy, It makes goin into the store so much easier with my 3 &2 yrold and newborn. I even nursed my baby in a store while she was in my moby. i wish i would have had one with my other two kids..

How sweet! I love how you talked about being able to do something big for someone like give them a van, but that giving the Moby away was something big for you. It's a reminder that even the things that seem big to us are really not - what God wants from us is to give our ALL to Him and you did that by listening to His still small voice. Beautiful, Amanda.

And, speaking of giving of yourself...I'm SO excited to do a photo shoot with you. That is a huge blessing to me too. I still have much to learn about photography and it's always fun to have another perspective. I'm thinking when the grass is green again and not muddy and wet, we'll have to plan a day to go to Lakeside Park again. It'll be fun to see Valerie and Dustin running around this year too ;)

I have never heard of a Moby before (it could have something to do with me being 17) but I absolutely loved this post. I bet Veronica will love her blessing as well. My cousin has been looking for a perfect baby holder for her newborn and I am most definitely showing her this. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

I have heard a little about these and was hoping that someone could tell me more about them as I am hoping that it would be a useful tool to combat colic, please say yes, but I have heard thay are $$$, are they worth it please be honest as DH is laid off and we have to be very very careful how we spend money. Thanks in advance:-)

Isn't it the best feeling to bless someone! What a cool little contraption that is. I sure wish they had those when mine were little.

I've been curious about those! They look so fun!

Blessing people is so much fun, huh? I think we can get a little insight into how God feels about blessing us if we think about it because He made us in His image. :)

I thought that was awesome when I read it on Veronica's blog. That was so sweet!!

I've always liked Happy Heinys. The ones I use are from October, so they're probably not "newer." But, though I have lots of velcro in my stash, I'm more partial to snaps because they last longer, so I order ed the snaps version of them. We'll see how they go.

That was so kind of you!!

I don't have a moby but I do have a custom wrap and I love it!! And that's only using it like once!

This is a wonderful post. Wouldn't it be great if we could all just give things away. It makes us feel good inside. I think what you're doing is fabulous, giving away a 'van', and all. God bless!

You're such a good friend :)

I need one of these. I have a regular front carrier that I seldom used with jax because it was killer on my back! Anything more than 30 mins (with a newborn - no less) was just murder! but the moby just looks too darn comfortable to hurt!

I haven't ever seen one of those! Very cool!
